Seasons and Metaphors Preview

01.26.2010 by Peter J. Crowley // 2 Comments

Some old favorites and some new work in this show primarily a retrospect. Once there were many doors to open and choices to be made. Now stand in line,  go with the flow and do it in 140 Characters or less. I read on  Bill Eppridge blog about one of his photos being “appropriated” into the work of another “artist?” collage. For those of you with a limited vocabulary “appropriated” means stolen. But there are many institutions of higher ed that teach stealing as a grad degree, it’s called Law. To understand intellectual property one must have an intellect. Well I am way over my 140 characters so most of you have stopped reading by now.                                             enjoy pjc

PETER! Now I’m upset, my curiosity for and my interest in your intellect exceed by far 140 characters 😉
Concerning the “appropriated”, that is really upsetting and I know how unnerving it feels when you discover a picture (a miss doodle drawing in my case) for example on someone’s blog, even if the person did not claim to be the author. I have decided though not to give it too much thoughts, or else I would have to quit showing work on the internet? I don’t know…
Your doors here lead us out of these worries into wide space and light:)
    have a great day
    Andrea

I remember this image from the past, very good tonality and DOF. Makes for a very good image of some simple scenes that others overlook.
