The Eight Mile River E. Haddam 2000

06.14.2012 by Peter J. Crowley // 1 Comment

Three years after this image was made I was fortunate to spend a month in residence at I-Park  a few miles up the river. The residency was a very creative month for me I plan to show a couple prints from this residency at The Discover Center opening Sept First.

I’m working on a new program to prep my images for online viewing. I have a new calibrated monitor and hope my B+W images will have better tonal range. What do you think?

Old Roads Traveled Again, Doors Color Digital

06.09.2012 by Peter J. Crowley // Leave a Comment

Yesterday me and the sunlight got together and created! I have to get out to shoot more exercise the body and the mind. A new solo show in Sept. will soon have a preview gallery for collectors and sponsors. Lots of work to prep for show! But can’t miss the summer light. A new image for the show is out there to be found and I’m Looking. Sept 1st at the Discovery Center in Turners Falls Ma. A great area to spend on a Saturday afternoon. Plan ahead a picnic and other sites along the Mohawk Trail.                         enjoy pjc

Along This Road I Travel Still.

05.23.2012 by Peter J. Crowley // Leave a Comment

Early spring traveling on Rt. 87 Lebanon this day by car to the darkroom at Photosynthesis  but my mind wanders to my youth as I would ride this road on my bike with friends from Coventry we would set out to explore sometimes riding 20 – 30 miles in a day. A new pond to skip rocks across, streams and big hills to race down fearless immortal kids. Fifty years later to the Lab, ten or so years ago to The Centennial Theater for summer theater dress rehearsal in Simsbury to photograph.
Yesterday hoping for an image or two between the rain drops or on the way back to chase the Golden Hour of late light. But there was no between the raindrops or Golden Hour. There was a visit with Carl and Maarit that made the sun shine within and the conversation with Tiana sharing her youth and dreams with us three sharing stories of youth and dreams. I told her I never thought I would be photographing barns but now as I think of being a kid in Coventry playing in haylofts the circle seems obvious.                                                    enjoy pjc
