The Lights are on but No One is Home Yet, Light of the Sun

November 15, 2012 By Peter J. Crowley 2 Comments

Late day and the parking lights are on as the Norwichtown Mall restoration continues.

Strong late afternoon sun create this apparently warm light yesterday afternoon. I have a problem or a dilemma with posting this tree you see what I saw was a B+W photo with a red filter to create a high contrast image. But the B+W I shoot is film so I am drawn to wanting this the way I saw the original image. I could but won’t convert it in PS. No matter what I do in PS the image never has the edge of a B+W neg/print. Maybe it is me but there is a whole different emotion produced by film the tactile feel of it the lingering study of the subject. The feeling of a book as opposed to a kindle. To me digital is a destination without a journey and the road of life is a journey of places in the soul, places that move you. A visual poem part of the journey, part of the story as you look at images of my journey you add your life’s story to fit my image in your response becoming part of my journey. enjoy pjc

Earlier effort at conversion, I thought sometime recently I posted a side by side of color and desaturated to B+W but can’t find it now.

It is beautiful, fresh and crisp. There is something so magical and powerful in trees at this time of year .

    Thank you Karen,
Majestic like the Ent\’s from The Hobbit. I can\’t wait to see the B+W the red filter will darken the sky adding to the power of the tree. enjoy pjc
