Sprague Historical Society Muesum-4-6-13-032

At Diana Perkins book signing I drifted back to one of my favorite influences Walker Evans. Looking up at all the old signs no longer hung on the buildings but now historical signposts of art. Diana looks back at this Mill Town to create “Jenny’s Way” her second novel in the Shetucket River Mill Town series; the first was Singing Her Alive. I look forward to reading Jenny’s Way but after I left the book signing I visited friends one who started the book when I got there and reports to me that she loves the way Diana weaves the history throughout the book. enjoy pjc

Magnolia Peeking out before Blossoms

April 6th Norwich Magnolia peeking - 4-6-13- 020

Digital image made yesterday. It will be Blooming by Tuesday. Here in Norwich Ct by the DAR Museum. Image made on breezy day I patiently waited for the breeze to stop and composed my background with minimal depth of field often I see images that always are shot at F-22 so everything is in focus but that isn’t how you see. Shoot in manual let you make the decisive moment. It becomes your image not the cameras auto mode image. Be your photographs. enjoy pjc
