Spring Walk and Fishing

03.15.2012 by Peter J. Crowley // 1 Comment

Checking all the Regulations at The Mystic River boat launch just a shadow of Tom preparing to feed the fish. They were not biting so we wandered in the sun had a great lunch of Lobster Ravioli. The rest of Monday we wandered.

Along the river walk in Groton near bluff point. Sorry I didn’t read the regulations so I can’t say quite where this is but photos are always in season. enjoy pjc

The Streets of Olympia Wa.

03.09.2012 by Peter J. Crowley // Leave a Comment

Vintage clothes store closing on a sunny day, that’s right sunny in January.

Back downtown the next day we chatted with this really fun Character as we shared space under an awning wondering if the pouring rain would let up. It did and we went off to lunch. Our day a little brighter because of our new amusing friend.

The Yantic P.O. is No More

03.08.2012 by Peter J. Crowley // Leave a Comment

I liked the Yantic P.O. the way I loved the ma and pa corner market and the family owned restaurant. I’m a small local business guy, liking being known by who waits on me and knowing them more than a “hello how are you” “ah fine.” But the little P.O. in Yantic is closed, the pace quickens. The place was packed with four people in line most not in a hurry short friendly social conversations developed. I understand budgets cuts and less written mail ya di ya di. Another little cut into socialization of the human race. But then the relatively new and improved sorting center in Wallingford is closed as well. Oh well it was spring like out today so Tom and I went fishing him for fish, me for photos. I did better than Tom. We also went to New London where the breeze was strong at Fort Trumbull. Another place where new and improved failed. But somebody made a buck which will be left out of history. enjoy pjc
