High Key Figure Study

02.07.2012 by Peter J. Crowley // 1 Comment

This image made on Ilford SFX that is a film that is Red sensitive so you shoot it through a RED 25 filter giving similar results to IR film. ISO 200 shot at 800 processed in Rodinal to produce a grainy effect almost to the point of a drawing. I love grain when used correctly.

Early Dance Image

10.14.2011 by Peter J. Crowley // 1 Comment

From the late 70’s or early 80’s Three Lights Illuminate five dancers drawn to the light. Shot at ISO 1600 with the three lights. You may have noticed a retrospective feel to my recent B+W posts, well that’s the way I’m feeling. Not quite mobile enough or strong enough to get to the lab and work. So most of the B+W will be from the past, some you may have seen before. The color will be transparencies scanned and yet to be posted and an occasional diggie image.  I’ll try and remember to post which is which. I tore this one taking it out of the matte so if it appears a bit dark along the top poor PS skills. lol

Images influenced by Walker Evans

Willimantic CT 1995 Wall Signage

Milo Maine 2000 Feed Store

A bit of Evans influence is seen in the two images above. I would have liked a few more people hanging around but in 1995 and 2000 people still had jobs and were not as social as the small town folk in the south.  See the show.
