Spring Comes in Three Verses, Sonnets, Phrases

05.04.2012 by Peter J. Crowley // Leave a Comment

Early Spring the first few warm days and the early buds begin to peek from there winter capsules. Small points of orange, brown, yellow and red dot the hillside with an impressionistic glow during the golden hour.

Tulips bubs poke out and up drinking the morning dew, soon they will explode like the roman candle of spring. Colors and buds continue to appear as the later blooming trees begin, the palette changes daily toward trees becoming green and providing a deep summer shade.

Then full blown plants these on the early side in Manchester. One of the great things about Connecticut is you can for weeks travel through all three of spring sonnets in a single day trip. On Monday I drove from Norwich, mid spring up route 87 to Franklin, Lebanon early spring on to Manchester for the beginning of late spring. I am a big fan of seasons and love spring the first season of the year, the first circle.                                                                                              enjoy pjc

Boa Island on Uconn Campus

04.14.2012 by Peter J. Crowley // 3 Comments

To the far right of what used to be the center of the Left is Boa Island. As they tear down the former Campus Restaurant I wonder if the island will be torn down or grow in the New Storrs Center. Wonder who owns the mortgage on the buildings on Dog Lane?  Phil’s gone “take paradise and put up a parking lot.”   enjoy pjc

Nice Former tree in background a shady place to sit while Storrs Automotive worked on your VW Beetle or Volvo.
