Around the Block and My World recent Faces

09.18.2021 by Peter J. Crowley // 4 Comments

The kids around the block this one always speaks with me. Clever, articulate comments we laugh often.

From a developing series of strong working women. Her eyes are smiling of course.

On my strolls I often pass by this mans house. Today he was mowing the lawn a gesture he rolls the mower to me.  I start to tell him who I am he says he sees my photos of flowers. Today I shoot portraits of you and others along the way.

Strong working women these two landscapers were as happy to be subjects as I was to make their portraits.

The milk man is too quick for me missing him twice on this stroll.

September 9th I met this man. I had been sitting on his wall trying to gather myself as my walk was longer than planned. I got up and he was in his driveway and had not seen me behind a bush. I said hi and thank you for having a perfect height wall for me to rest he laughed. He said I glad it was right, this is a great neighborhood.

The tomato give away was visited by only these two neighbors. Photo’s are not required to pick my free tomatoes. There are still more to pick four varieties of cherry tomatoes see you soon.

Then there is me, trying to not be swept down the drain. Ha Ha

Again a couple young women made my day soar but when I realized there wasn’t a CF card in my camera down went my mood. Went home got a card was scolded by Fe. for not checking. We went back up Carlyon to Safeway they were at the bus stop on Capitol Way. Parking at Safeway we rushed to re-shoot. Forgetful is my middle name. The re-shoot was OK but the first session in my mind was better. Amazingly fast walk for me exhausted but pleased.

Ya I couldn’t decide two solos, or just the duet. Love smiling faces the world expands before them. They are the future thank for posing.

Look around there are many stories told, you can incorporate your own history. See a file or a tag to offer you selections of the theme you wish to explore.

Neighbors faces around the block and beyond.

08.24.2021 by Peter J. Crowley // 8 Comments

Some of the people I’ve met on the street around the block and beyond.

A familiar face around by circle.

V.A.C.A.T.I.O.N cause it’s summertime.  An old song from an old guy.

August 19th around noon dogs pose for their close up.

August 21st I came upon mom and dad. “Forget the Paparazzi  I need a nap.”

July 27th a hot day they pause to sit for a portrait.

August 15th Steve pops in from Norwich Ct. Old friends who always come by when visiting relatives.  Steve, his brother and Jeanne make my day.

As bright as her Roses that I have been shooting for years.

July 19th doing some yard work for her mom. Sweet when children are around to help their older parents. I have a sweet daughter who does things for me.

A friend up the street a journalist we often converse on media today and in the past.

One day when I was tall in the milk refrigerators at Safeway.  Her choice was on the top shelve looking for an employee I stepped in reached it for her and she said yes to a portrait.

July 7th out strolling I needed a place to sit and tie my shoes. I called to her can I come sit in the other chair? To tie my shoe? We sat for 5-10 minutes talking before she agreed be photographed.  Sparkling eyes.

Peace pjc

Percival Landing and around the block this week.

08.12.2021 by Peter J. Crowley // 2 Comments

What is in the my viewfinder the last week.

Wednesday Aug. 11 before we all were sweltering.  I met these 3 coming up my street. They were happy to pose, they were just happy people. As  I spoke to them the little guy listened but was shy with words. I asked him if the Apple was good. No words but his answer was heard loud and clear.

Morning light at Percival was perfect and a cool breeze made for a creative stroll. Sweet simplicity, vibrant color dances across my image.

A breeze of Golden light shimmers through the grass by the Sound

Back light on North Street August 6th the light is spectacular most of the time. Seeing this light is up to you. Just look at where you are, not where you are rushing to.

A fine week. Bring on the dancing girls. Percival Landing August 9th.

I saw these two walking towards me up the walk about 20 ft. working on dance moves. I set the light for this spot. When they arrived I said “want to do those steps you were doing before for my camera?” Their eyes met briefly a giggle and “sure.” I made these two images it was a fun moment.
