Silver Gelatin Victorian Brass Doorknob from the Early ’80s

01.28.2012 by Peter J. Crowley // Leave a Comment

First time this has been printed from “Doorway’s Portfolio” so many images. Doorways is the second oldest portfolio I work on since early 70’s till forever. So much room for your mind to explore, every door swings both ways allowing you to create the story on either side of the door. enjoy pjc

On the other side of these doors folks will be lining up in the cold to get into The Hygienic Gallery for their annual event that warms the soul of the New London area arts community. Put a piece of your work in the show? Come see my work and others all mediums. See the link for details.
I really liked the door and mosaic floor. Digital Image enjoy pjc

Doorways

01.18.2011 by Peter J. Crowley // 3 Comments

Entryways, old roads traveled once more. An early portfolio revisited on an autumn afternoon. I’ve been fascinated from my earliest exposure and before with what lies behind the door? Another world [one for you who know me this door is one I didn’t often take] visual stories of what is on the other side. Simplicity inviting you to create memories or fantasies. This Barbershop on main Street Manchester Connecticut. As a youth old enough to know about girls we’d go to Manchester for a movie, but really to stroll Main St. and see the “City Girls” for we were from Coventry a little farm town/bedroom community 15 or so miles east. Now across the street from the barber shop my friend Carl lives in elderly housing a converted elementary school. We still stroll main St. slower but still looking at the girls seeing how much has changed yet how everything is the same. The sweet allure of memory awakened by the simplicity of the image of the just right light transporting us between here and there.
