Neighbors faces around the block and beyond.

08.24.2021 by Peter J. Crowley // 8 Comments

Some of the people I’ve met on the street around the block and beyond.

A familiar face around by circle.

V.A.C.A.T.I.O.N cause it’s summertime.  An old song from an old guy.

August 19th around noon dogs pose for their close up.

August 21st I came upon mom and dad. “Forget the Paparazzi  I need a nap.”

July 27th a hot day they pause to sit for a portrait.

August 15th Steve pops in from Norwich Ct. Old friends who always come by when visiting relatives.  Steve, his brother and Jeanne make my day.

As bright as her Roses that I have been shooting for years.

July 19th doing some yard work for her mom. Sweet when children are around to help their older parents. I have a sweet daughter who does things for me.

A friend up the street a journalist we often converse on media today and in the past.

One day when I was tall in the milk refrigerators at Safeway.  Her choice was on the top shelve looking for an employee I stepped in reached it for her and she said yes to a portrait.

July 7th out strolling I needed a place to sit and tie my shoes. I called to her can I come sit in the other chair? To tie my shoe? We sat for 5-10 minutes talking before she agreed be photographed.  Sparkling eyes.

Peace pjc

Summer Seats a place for quiet comfort.

08.08.2021 by Peter J. Crowley // 4 Comments

Just a moment in the sun or shade, alone or with a mate. A good book, a quiet peace.

Many varieties around the my circle.

Some designed as gardens or little people full of wonder.

Others just working well. Wicker chairs soft cushions and a small table for iced drinks on the sunny days.

Sun or shade sets the mood. The suns path, vegetation do play their roll.

All have an allure to me. I make an image as my mind creates a story of the life’s lived in these warm places.

They come in colors everywhere. Just a chair for your diereaire. But much more a moment just for you.

A place for your seat while you munch on a treat.

Find your seat for whatever you please relax, dream   peace pjc

Community, Humanity grow well at the Olympia Farmers Market

08.07.2021 by Peter J. Crowley // 4 Comments

People blooming in my rectangle at The Olympia Farmers Market.

A bowl of Pozole just delicious and a great subject at Los Tulenos July 16th 2021.

Spinning wool at Iron Wool Works June 24th 2021.

July 16th 2021 These two were sparkling laughter raining on all as I made the images.

July 16th A warm story she is telling me as her mind is fills with memories. We share a moment.

Pausing for a portrait in between laughs and memories. A tough decision what to post?  The answer was use 3 of the many shots I made.

Me you want a photo of me. Yes I do an image made. I’m pleased and hope he will see this and feel the same. The image always the image no longer shooting for publication I neglect to get names.

July 31st this man and I struck up a conversation Jazz, photography, art, life. There is a bit of ham at the market he laughed as he was “Styling.” We chatted as friends picking up the banter from the last time we spoke. Like an old friend who I had never met.

Eyes isn’t that what it is all about? My first visit to the farmers market June 24th after a long cold winter of no travel out side my apartment it was spring. I could go out and make portraits of people, portraits of life. Evan in a mask these eyes have so much to say.

July 16th Emily Jack at OlyKraut.com. The light at the market is low but my subjects burn brightly.

Across the street he stood and he played real good on his flute for free. Altered quote from Joni Mitchell. Basking is a hard way to share your talent we stood and listened he was very good.

Be it 1968 in my youth or this summer the mating ritual is the same. A bad composition cutting the feet without negative space but I was lost in my feelings of youth. The image happened quickly and was gone much like youth.

Entering the market are bricks engraved with the names of market supporters. Those who back this island of humanity and peace. Thank you everyone my creativity grows with each visit and the food is grand. peace
