I’m not that person anymore.

Out in the new fallen snow, the driver to all the beautiful places, Adventures. I watch through the window on the screen. I’m not that person anymore. Peace, Justice, Antiwar. I can’t separate the consumer from the artist. I’m not that person anymore. “Look what’s happening out in the streets” Nothing! It’s an emailution Volunteers in easy charge card chairs. I never was that person. When did activism become so singular? So elite so anti social. I signed an email petition Click Click I’ve done my part. Delete Delete and your liberal senators aide has done theirs. See you in the shallow end of the gene pool. Red State, Blue State, Purple State, Das State, My State, I’m not that State anymore. Something must be done. Done not Spun I’m not that person anymore! Who am I?

Me and My Doors, Early Morning Waiting for FedEx Magic

Time on one side on the other side what life’s passed this way before. Simple images stretching the imagination, light shade contrast changes. Ten minutes with this door once a home now an office, electric company elegant mystery.

May 29th coffee and this blog B+W Digital also shot on film, today Fed Ex delivers a small package of FILM yes. One Hundred Eighty little 1×1.5 inches of magic. A transfusion of sight, soul creation.

Six or so images of this entryway but in the end it is like all my images a self portrait. This day I had B+W Film in the camera this is digital I think I shot the image above with film and maybe this as well but the last roll was in the camera and I was being very selective.

Light Color B+W Digital What Does Meter See?

So on my almost daily walk to get cookies I come to my poppies, not mine really but a great subject when in bloom. I am shooting with my camera set to B+W with a RAW color file but it is Digital B+W I am focused on learning. I make a couple of exposures, but not liking the contrast my mind drifts to film. Film I’d use a filter to pop the contrast. This is without filter.

I add a Red 25 filter meter and shoot. Image is way underexposed say 4 times or two stops. Check meter and am given the same reading. Open up two stops for the filter factor and get this image. Now I really wonder, it is my understanding that the digital sensor makes a mathematical calibration of light that is not seeing light as film does. Does the sensor not see the different colors? The affect of the filter is very similar to use with film the bright orange poppy is lightened while the green in background is darkened. Which is exactly what I wanted in this back light scene. Something to think about and experiment more with. Both images worked in PS but just to resize and burn dodge. enjoy pjc
