A Lost Boy at the Portland Or. Union Train Station

Portland Or Train Station 93-98-21_edited-1

Telling stories, creating emotions. The little boy looks across the waiting room to a grandmotherly women in line. She doesn’t know him the emotion I create here is of fear and being lost from the point of view of the boy. That is the story the emotion we have all felt at one time or another. enjoy pjc

The real story is the boy isn’t lost at all by stepping to the right I did not include his parents who were five feet to the right as their son took in the view of this magnificent old station and by composing [not cropping] the image to tell my tale, to create an emotion for you to add you story to the image.

Barn When I Was A Young Photographic Artist

09.03.2013 by Peter J. Crowley // 2 Comments

June Sixth Preston Farm_edited-4

I grew up and lived in Coventry, Mansfield, Willington Ct. I never shot barns seeing them as touristy and functional. I look back now at the old barns and wish I had seen these barns as documents to a changing world. Now I see the texture and feel the history hear the words these old “Family Farms” speak of, lives well lived hard work yet a work of love for the family. Terry “Davo” Davis a well known New London artist who years back did a series of drawings of Historical Barns saw one of the other barns on my site. So I am getting maps from Ct. Historical barns and one day soon we will be out to seek many of the barns and do a twenty year update. enjoy pjc
