The Emporium Feb. Fourth

Art Deco Lamp

The Last Christmas Ornament

Seasons come and go, in my photographic/metaphoric life there was the season of antiques. Art Deco was a period I studied as I worked for The Wooden Nutmeg. Christmas is a season that changes with age we cling to the warm memories of youth and Santa. Perhaps we now cling to charge cards more than memories hoping we can buy back the magic of youth?           enjoy pjc
A couple images from last night or the past. Show runs through February memories and metaphors run on forever.

“Seasons-Metaphors”

The Emporium Gallery Opening February Fourth 2010 6pm to 8pm 15 Water Street Mystic Connecticut.

A glimpse of light and emotion from thirty eight years of motion made still. Summer, winter, nature and nudes, real, surreal, a look at my visual journey creating photographic art.

Thank you Cindy and the staff at the Emporium and all the folks who came out in the cold to see my work. Many warm thoughts to Berta and S. L. Johnson, for curating and poster design.

ChurchLightLebGreen-D-54-09-22Reflections of light or through light on this church wall.

Reflections have been a window beyond the surface for much of my creative life. Tomorrow night at my opening I’ll be reflecting back on many images, many periods from thirty eight years. Here is a preview from my performing arts work and a click on the image will lead you to more motion.

The person traveling the furthest will get a gift and there will be portrait discount cards passed out be part of my work. Post cards of the New England Shoreline, photo note cards and “All the Usual Subjects”.  Ask about the final Kodachrome series?

Motion and emotion.

06.16.2008 by Peter J. Crowley // 5 Comments

These have been primary themes of my work forever! As I blogged through the 70’s and 80’s I looked at recurring themes. I choose to revisit these themes/roots sometimes traveling the same path, sometimes a new interpretation or ideas that didn’t reach film. Movement for sure. Here is one from the beginning of a series. Katie will play a moving roll in this work. See her dance in person and on my site. enjoy pjc
