February in the Mid 80’s Warm enough for a Walk

10.25.2012 by Peter J. Crowley // Leave a Comment

Back in the 80’s I worked for The River East News Bulletin driving back through Hebron I pasted this man walking in the late day sun. Cold for sure but I turned around went back and chatted with him. Yep he walked every day it was dry. We spoke of the past and his life and how nice a day it was[his words I was freezing] a pipe of tobacco and the bright sun he was pleased. Asking if I could take his picture he posted I shot and he carried on with his walk. I made this image as he returned to his stroll. enjoy pjc

The day my friends convinced me to try a photo in my printer.

10.19.2012 by Peter J. Crowley // Leave a Comment

The image was made in an empty apt. in the old section of ArtSpace Norwich. Being a complete film photographer at the time and rarely using my desktop printer for anything but letters I agreed to try the printer.

Well it appears that the only color ink left was red.I could say I’m posting this as a breast cancer awareness month photo and that works. But in reality I just found it in a draw and it gave me a chuckle. enjoy pjc

A Mystic Stroll Before The Heat Wave

06.30.2012 by Peter J. Crowley // Leave a Comment

On my stroll I was heading to the bank. She fit the day perfectly I asked if I could shoot her and she replied “sure you’re Peter Crowley” It seems I had met her briefly about a month before taking her photo in the same shades.

The couple hours spent was very productive new looks at old portfolios.

A busy day of color, shoppers, strollers provides me with these two Layered Life Images where reality becomes abstraction.

What would a day in Mystic be without the “Morgans Mast” and a yearning for Mystic Drawbridge Ice Cream. Next time I’ll stop for sherbert. Today I was late arriving to the bank so I was penniless, well cash poor so I’ll be back soon to a very visual,  wonderful town.                                                       enjoy pjc
