Media Week here at Casa De PJC

“Art takes time, time is money, money scarce and that ain’t funny!”

Ray Davies and me

Sunday March 17th barely into my second cup of coffee  I was the guest of Cristina Querrer for her yourartsygirl podcast

Cristina is a multi discipline verbal and visual artist I met at ArtSpace Norwich Ct. She adds some history to me and the process to becoming a Photographic Artist. During the interview a window kept opening telling me my connection was unstable I thought so what me to,  perhaps why I sound…. Listen and decide how I sound.

Early spring temps soar to the 60’s on Saint Patrick’s Day to the eighties as the week progressed. I strolled around 1. 25 miles round the neighborhood. A very long walk for me these days.

March 17,2019

So now I’m ready for my for my close up. Wednesday March 20th I appeared in a video for Homes First  my excellent landlord. The video was created by Media Marketing Solutions my apartment became a set. “Real Artists of Western Washington” A great biographical sketch of me and how I ended up here in Olympia and how much I like where I live. Brandon and his crew created a real, relaxed atmosphere. I’m looking forward to the finished video. Premiering soon Black Tie I’m sure, really it will be on Homes First site in a bit.

On the 20th it was a bad breathing day, as they set up I was making sauce is short bursts 5 minutes to sit down repeat. Stress is apparently quite a trigger for COPD. Stress not related to the video  but sitting in my chair lights camera action I’m on. Those of you who know me and have been experienced [been subjected] to my story telling know we ran long. I look forward to seeing the finished project.  If it isn’t raining I walk daily, not far on the 20th enough to see and create around the property where my apt. is located.

Patty’s garden is inspirational a painting of the Earth by Patty and the Earth.

Color and light a four season exhibit a few paces down the walk. A friend who sees.

Around by the garage by the back walk new life springs from old. This stump now a host for other new life.

A bit of slightly over saturated leaves in our sidewalk garden. They will be this rich in a month I couldn’t wait. Then there is the age old photographers problem. If there is bird shit on a leaf do you leave it or clean it and now with all the tech do you use a tissue with a bit of spit or photoshop?

Morning Light, Changing Times

03.12.2019 by Peter J. Crowley // Leave a Comment

I stroll the morning light, over the years perhaps my most creative hours. Just me wandering through the universe of color, light, composition visual words telling stories.

The light inspires, dances through the trees warming the body and mind.

Morning the other golden hour.

Negril Jamaica 1982

Different looks through the rectangle, new places culture, Kodachrome life. I miss the morning light up with the sun. Bag loaded coffee in the pocket of my photo-vest. Negril walk till Pee Wees for breakfast. Cosey Beach E. Haven Ct. [70’s] the beach the sea the light never failed. Norwich stroll  to Kyrena’s, later to Merrihews for a fresh Portuguese roll more coffee and creative conversations.

Feb. 2019 Olympia

Waiting for meds to kick in the morning light reflects on the wall and door, flashes in the mirror beckoning. The aroma of coffee turned on an hour or so earlier fills the air. Trying to stretch my dreams walking in the light of the past. Up to  coffee at the desk, the dream now seems simple get out in the morning light. The body and the mind struggle most often the body wins leaving me with this.

Olympia Feb. 2018

Outside my kitchen window, maybe tomorrow I will get beyond my window of life.
