Mystic Drawbridge Ice Cream

07.14.2012 by Peter J. Crowley // 3 Comments

A lot is said through signs, not just flavors and sales. There is a personality a history to the signage. FSA photographer Walker Evans inspired my to see the personality, history of signage. My image here is from happier times then during Walkers FSA days, but I hope the emotion comes through.                                    enjoy pjc

Morning Rain on an Iris

06.13.2012 by Peter J. Crowley // 2 Comments

Morning rain caressing this Iris while I wander around Willimantic waiting on auto repair. This morning is similar I’m not out wandering but the rain is light enough to not threaten my camera or drip on lens filter. A quiet sad rain for me not the Iris’s.                                                                       enjoy pjc

Studio Muse Portrait

04.23.2012 by Peter J. Crowley // Leave a Comment

A moments pause by my Muse an image is made. An invitation to ponder, what is being said by this subject, this Photographic Artist. “Every image you make is a self portrait” be it a beautiful young muse wide eyes or a textured wood colored barn. Images all speak to you in a silent wonderful visual language. Are the words the same to all. No, does she speak the same words every time you look no, nor does the barn. “A photograph is a secret about a secret the more it tells you the less you know.” Diane Arbus. It is your day about which she speaks an ambiguous, solitary, alluring. You correspond the emotion to the image. Image made in 2004 silver gelatin print. Eight years later she still speaks to me different words with each view, they all still speak with me, Barns, Rivers, Abstracts…                           enjoy pjc
