The Daily November 2nd

11.03.2015 by Peter J. Crowley // 2 Comments

The Daily well it won’t happen every day. The image may not be from that days images. So why The Daily, it sounds good LOL each day I shoot images with my Digital Nikon trying to learn how to optimize the quality of my images. Sometimes I’ll show these tests if they are fun, a good image and I can talk about what I tried to accomplish.

Today it is RED. I have found the most difficulty in creating images with lots of red. The problem has been separating the various densities without blocking up tones. today’s walk to the market provided my with this image. It was great to be able to wear shoes and walk for the first time since Wednesday.

DSC_0066 JPG Ss30 B-6 G-1 Brg Cnst 11-2-15This is right out of camera with shooting in Vivid +1 contrast  WB for shadow and +1 saturation. In PS I took out some blue and a bit of green. Minor contrast, and lighting. so to me it is okay but in my mind when I made the image I felt there was more separate red values. Opinions welcome.  enjoy pjc

10.25.2015 by Peter J. Crowley // 7 Comments

The days start slow coffee, meds eat, wait for meds to work play online. Second, third gear lunch. Out to the world the light is right it always is, State Street meander to Percival landing.

DSC_0045 S45 B-2 Shd Lgt20 HiLtDrk-20 10-16-15 Percival Landing often a destination to read, write but today the sun that shone when I left for the bus was replaced by a cool breeze and a hazy shade of winter. The table and chairs where I would sit and write have been moved indoor for the season. Winter is closing in, but the light was right it always is. The water the boats abstract reflections.

DSC_0039 S50 B-2 Cnst+60 Brt Shad Lgt Hi30 10-16-15I wonder is everything just a reflection? Light and shade create  reality the reflection different each time you look painted with a wider brush.  Summer dances on the ripples of Autumns chilly breath.

DSC_0040 RAW S40 B+2 G-2 R+2 Cnst+60 10-16-15Trying to catch a reflection of a gull cavorting above, not easy. Twenty minutes no gull. I walk on viewing the public art and shooting some skateboarders. A Molasses cookie at Traditions and back to the bus ninety minutes after getting off the bus I am heading home a good productive walk.  The light was right it always is………………………..
