Doorways

01.18.2011 by Peter J. Crowley // 3 Comments

Entryways, old roads traveled once more. An early portfolio revisited on an autumn afternoon. I’ve been fascinated from my earliest exposure and before with what lies behind the door? Another world [one for you who know me this door is one I didn’t often take] visual stories of what is on the other side. Simplicity inviting you to create memories or fantasies. This Barbershop on main Street Manchester Connecticut. As a youth old enough to know about girls we’d go to Manchester for a movie, but really to stroll Main St. and see the “City Girls” for we were from Coventry a little farm town/bedroom community 15 or so miles east. Now across the street from the barber shop my friend Carl lives in elderly housing a converted elementary school. We still stroll main St. slower but still looking at the girls seeing how much has changed yet how everything is the same. The sweet allure of memory awakened by the simplicity of the image of the just right light transporting us between here and there.

Photographic Art Half Price on all Prints for the rest of December, plus shipping

You may have noticed I’ve had less to say lately? No Ranting, no Politics, or poetry. Just distracted and in a retrospective mood. It is a long look back in the rear view mirror. Maybe I’ll write more in the new year? Maybe I’ll go off the grid? A little mystery.  enjoy pjc
