In a very solemn voice “it’s a worm he is dead. It is very sad.”

Transition is a big thing for 3YOs from PJs to clothes, etc screaming, whining as mommy brushed her hair to go away for a weeks vacation. Standing there watching sipping on my first coffee mommy finishes she hops down and says to me,

Transition from a toddler to a pre school-er is tough so many changes so many new responsibilities. So much more right out there on the horizon, almost reading, almost able to swim. “I don’t want to wear those shoes!!” This refrain will be a constant. Learning to tell time I hope will make picking shoes and other changes easier.

Sitting in the car while mommy pays a bill we talk of plants, animals simple three Y.O. talk she explains the difference between nocturnal, and diurnal. Golden earring on the radio she asks grandpa do you like this music? Yes I do, do you? ” Not so much.”  Wednesday is concert night in Sylvester Park downtown. Spinning, dancing, running, collecting feathers “grandpa where is your camera bag? Where can I put the feathers?

Not really hungry but she likes the ambiance of cafe society. She is after all my granddaughter. Not tonight maybe tomorrow. What are you doing tomorrow mommy? We are going on a bike ride. From the back “We can stink on the bike trail.” Laughing mommy says we shower after the bike rides. She will be here soon we will be going to the restaurant after my Dr. appt.  enjoy pjc  we certainly will

Flying West to see my Granddaughter, Daughter and her Husband.

02.04.2012 by Peter J. Crowley // Leave a Comment

January 19th a day later than planned Winter chose to visit Seattle first. Off from Green airport in a prop jet image made at about 2000 ft if you look under the engine those white spots are houses. Shooting at 1/2000 of a second almost stops the prop but believe me it was working well.

After boarding for Seattle and getting as comfortable as possible for a 5 hour flight the pilot came on and said the flight was cancelled. A new line to stand in and ponder the ad photo that had/is causing a stir? No definite opinion here, sure it is a bit racy if that’s what you seek to see. Seems like a weak target for the right.

So I got a great hotel room and price at Embassy Suites took the shuttle over had a salad, went to my suite turned on one of the two big flat screen TVs for five minutes and realized it’s 11:30 and I have a 4:45 wake up call. YIKES it has been a while since I have seen 4:45 I wondered does it really exist? It does! Got to the lobby in time to here Prince singing Party like it’s 1999, 5:15 am where’s the coffee? None available “What” well there was a pot in my suite but powdered creamer. No way.

6:15 am Dulles Coffee, laptop and a comfortable seat.

Arriving in SF I called my daughter and her husband both lines straight to voice mail? Did they get the message I was heading for Portland instead of Seattle? Pretty sure I had talked to them about it but was tired. Arrived in Portland OR. and tried to call again. Straight to voice mail? Sat and watched the empty baggage claim for a few minutes, called Rees, had him Call back to make sure I was receiving incoming calls. I was. Hmmm? Ten minutes later my daughter called to tell me they were on the way and that they had no electricity or cell service at the house. But they had gas hot water and a wood stove, and Inara would be making her first out of state trip to meet me and her first out to dinner adventure. GREAT!

There are no words to describe how I felt Just WOW. enjoy pjc

Old Red Car, Franklin Farm Stand

01.19.2012 by Peter J. Crowley // Leave a Comment

October 25 2010 found me at the Franklin Farm Stand getting fresh veggies and maybe a pie. Their pies are so good but I have no will power so the pie has a very short shelf life once it is home. On this day a 20s-30s old bright red auto arrived and I loved the farm stand in the door reflection. So I made a couple digital images. enjoy pjc
