Three Images from Summer to Fall. Looking Through 2015 Files

12.28.2015 by Peter J. Crowley // 4 Comments

Despite knowing it is just another day years of programming has led me to a review. Here are three images one from July, and two from October. I plan on visiting this tradition of review a few more times. Always liked shooting more than printing so there is a few images to see. Contrast and a bit of added saturation pretty much just out of camera. Comments welcome, I’m getting use to digital any thoughts?

Taffville Mill 8/24/14 B+W in camera. Taken before I was advised to shoot RAW and convert. I have applied some of the conversion skills I have since learned. Slight warming filter added.

Old roads I traveled often. “The Road Goes on Forever and The Party Never Ends” Robert Earl Keen. This in my opinion is still a little blue.

Barn When I Was A Young Photographic Artist

09.03.2013 by Peter J. Crowley // 2 Comments

June Sixth Preston Farm_edited-4

I grew up and lived in Coventry, Mansfield, Willington Ct. I never shot barns seeing them as touristy and functional. I look back now at the old barns and wish I had seen these barns as documents to a changing world. Now I see the texture and feel the history hear the words these old “Family Farms” speak of, lives well lived hard work yet a work of love for the family. Terry “Davo” Davis a well known New London artist who years back did a series of drawings of Historical Barns saw one of the other barns on my site. So I am getting maps from Ct. Historical barns and one day soon we will be out to seek many of the barns and do a twenty year update. enjoy pjc
