On the Road to Turners Falls and Back

10.02.2012 by Peter J. Crowley // Leave a Comment

On RT 91 N in Ma. a scenic overview sends mixed messages. There are no trash containers? Live Parking only? The scenic view is through a fence unless you are much taller than five foot eight.

The breeze and red grass create a canvas for my camera at Great Falls Discover Center.

Third St. Youth Sculpture Park Turners Falls Not new but still youthful quite cool.

Sad news. My show at Great Falls Discovery Center came down on the 27th

Sorry due to a combination of weather scheduling and health I chose to take the show down on Thursday. Art is hard to move in torrential rain. So am I. To those who missed the show I am sorry.

The folks at Great Falls were wonderful hosts and I can’t thank them enough for working with me to arrange this exhibition. Their first communication to me came shortly after a long hospital stay and was just what I needed to push me to create. Thank you.

The Great Hall where monthly exhibits are shown, but this is not just a gallery it is a wonderful natural history museum with many speakers, programs and dioramas. It is a wonderful day trip or more if you look into the area lots of art and music venues. Thank you Laurel, Paul and the staff.

What brings visitors to an art site? 1. Nudity [on the edge of art is better] 2. New Content it used to called information. But information implies knowledge usefulness. Where content a simple bombarding of useless details but there everyday. If your content is new racy swimsuits worn by stars trying to be left alone all the better, even better is knowing who made the swimsuit. 3. Gore or implied gore, this includes auto accidents, police dashboard camera. 4 Of course are the bizarre, what would we all be without People of [well you know I’m not saying their name] Hate Groups, love groups belong to both to hedge your bet. Petitions, games, causes and all the other info grabbers on line. You can fill in the rest but let me leave you this warning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No Sarcasm it doesn’t work in Print.
